Black Maternal Health Week 2020

The National Association to Advance Black Birth (NAABB) believes that all Black birthing persons are entitled to respectful, equitable, and high-quality pre- and postpartum care. The newly released Black Birthing Bill of Rights is a resource for every black person that engages in maternity care. They have developed 20 evidence-based rights that they believe all Black birthing persons are entitled to including the rights to be respected, heard and believed in.. Furthermore, they want each Black birthing person to know their rights and to have the tools to confidently exercise these rights. The Black Birthing Bill of Rights serves as guidance for government programs, hospitals, maternity providers and others as they transform their policies, procedures, and practices to meet the needs of Black birthing people. To kick start this year's Black Maternal Health Week, please look at and share the Black Birthing Bill of Rights statements and accompanying illustrations with your friends and associates. Be sure to follow Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for updates on the Bill of Rights. You can also visit the NAABB website for more information.
